Skincare Guide for brides
Prep for your skin needs to start as early as you can. Keep it simple so you are more likely to stick to it.
Invest in a daily high SPF cream - at least a factor 25 with a good UVA rating. If you are having a Summer or Autumn wedding it will really help if you can minimise your sun exposure and keep out of the sun around 2 weeks before your day to minimise the risk of burnt, sore skin or tan strap marks.
Try to get into a good skin cleansing routine. A quick no more than 10 minute routine morning and night will be easier to keep up with than an hour each day with lots of different steps and products. Start exfoliating, moisturising and use a good SPF as soon as you can, it will make so much difference to your skin. Once a week use a face scrub & a soothing mask to address any skin issues and keep your skin glowing. Don't forget to double cleanse at least once a day, using a oil based cleanser first then a water based cleanser afterwards to get your skin feeling it's best. Using a richer moisturiser at night is best as it will have time to penetrate into the skin. Along with a suitable neck and eye cream. Remember not to use too much you only need a pea sized amount.
Keep hydrated - this makes such a difference to your skin and overall health. Healthy eating is also key for great skin. Try to concentrate on getting plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, health fats into your diet. Also check you are getting enough Vitamin B as this will help towards nourishing your skin from the inside out.
Try to minimise your stress levels, it is proven that stress can be the worse thing for skin. Although I appreciate this is easier said than done think about maybe giving meditation, yoga or simply going for a daily walk a try to destress.
Keep track of your routine using a monthly chart like the example shown below. Jot down anything you felt works well with your skin.
